This guide will show you how to mount a wood rosette and handrail into a wall. This guide gives general instructions so please use your own discretion as far as measurements, angles and tool choice. Step 1 — Assuming your home is framed correctly, there should be a stud where the handrail should mount. If there is not, you can mark where the rosette needs to sit, then cut out rectangular hole in the drywall that is within the traced area of the rosette.

The corner of the rosette block should be pointing directly at the corner of the doorjamb. Align the rosette visually for squareness. Shoot one pin nail through the rosette block into the stud directly behind it. Place a tri-square on the bottom of the rosette block. Use a hammer to tap it lightly if needed to align it with the doorjamb. Shoot two or three more pin nails through the rosette block to secure it to the wall. Install a rosette block on both sides of the door jamb.

Measure from the floor on both sides to the bottom of the rosette blocks on both sides. The square shape makes it easy to add to door or window frames or a decorative corner element for your base or crown moulding. This rosette door trim comes in five different square sizes and two different edges. A square edge is just as it sounds—squared off.

An ogee or OG edge provides a tiered-square border that adds another dimension of style to your design. You can buy it by the piece, so you only have to purchase the exact number you need! Stop in one of our four showrooms to speak with our friendly and knowledgeable sales team.
